PLAYERS ATTRACTED TO TURKEY DUE TO LOWER TAXES

European stars are now looking at moving to Turkey for regular football action as the climate is conducive and the league is competitive. The Turkish league is enjoying good following but another major factor players now consider a plus is the lower income tax rate.

Last December, the Turkish parliament approved that football players pay only 15 percent of their taxable income for the next two years. The parliament made the move in a bid to boost the Turkish league and attract more top personalities.

CLICHY AN ASSET TO MAN CITY

Manchester City rarely get credit for being frugal. It's partly because they've regularly spent hundreds of millions of pounds on their summer transfers and haven't been scouting around to pick up a player on the cheap.

Their transfer policy for some time now, have been to sign already made players for exorbitant prices instead of scouting around to buy younger and cheaper players.

Clichy: City will be champions

Former Manchester City defender Gael Clichy believes that his former team will win the title this season. He believes that Pep Guardiola has assembled a good team to challenge for the Premier League title and he feels that this is the season where the Spanish manager will win his first title in England.

He said that the team is balanced in all departments and that they have good strength in depth. Gael Clichy said that this is important when you know that the Premier League is a tough competition and that they will also have to deal with the Champions League as well.

SEVILLA TO FACE IMPROVED BASAKSEHIR IN CL QUALIFIER

Turkish football side Basaksehir would be hoping to get past La Liga side Sevilla when they meet at the Champions League qualifier.


Ahead of the meeting with Sevilla, Basaksehir had the support of their president TayyipErdogan as they sailed to a 5-3 aggregate win against over Club Bruges. The seasoned Belgian side had fought hard in the first leg which ended in a 3-3 draw but Premier League legend Emmanuel Adebayor was on target to deliver the advantage.

CITY TO HIJACK DANILO FOR £26.5 MILLION

Manchester City are reportedly set to hijack the deal for Real Madrid right back Danilofrom Chelsea.


The Guardian reports that City have agreed a fee with Madrid for the player to move. The Brazilian is expected to provide competition for recently acquired Kyle Walker from Spurs.

The fee is in the range of £26.5 million with add-ons taking it to £30 million. This means Pep Guardiola is hoping to spend as much as £80 million for just the right back role. The Spaniard released Gael Clichy, Pablo Zabaleta and BacarySagna so full backs were an important part of his summer plans.

GAEL CLICHY EXITS THE ETIHAD

Manchester City have confirmed that defender Gael Clichy would exit this summer.


The team is set for an overhaul after an underwhelming season for manager Pep Guardiola.

Clichy’s deal is set to lapse on June 30 and the club has revealed that they would not renew it. The defender joined from Arsenal in 2011. He was part of the Premier League winning team of 2012 when City shocked everyone with the title after 44 years.
