CITY GETTING BETTER

The French defender Gael Clichy played with Arsenal for 8 years until he completed a switch to Manchester City where he is now allocated and is confident that they will only get better with the new managers and new players that might be arriving in January.

He told the club's official website: "We know what we have to do, to do our own thing and try not to lose points at home. Taking game after game will be a key point for us and hopefully we can now improve our away record’’.

FRANCE MAKE IT

France made up from their 1st leg match against Ukraine that saw the French team losing 2-0 but weeks later they secured their place into the 2014 World Cup in a dramatic 2nd leg in which France won 3-0.

Unfortunately for Gael Clichy he is nothing more than a substitute player for Didier Deschamps who prefers choosing Eric Abidal and Mamadou Sakho ahead of the Manchester City player and even with his club he has not made any significant impact that can permanently secure his position in the Premier League club as he plays in 1 match and the next week is he is being sidelined.

CLICHY RUES SEASON

Gael Clichy has said that the last season was one of the worst for Manchester City because they failed to win any title.

There have been a lot of questions asked about the future of the Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini, but the assistant manager at the club David Platt feels that the Italian is the right manager for the club. Mancini is widely expected to lose his job if City fail to win the FA Cup this season.

The club are already 15 points behind the archrivals Manchester United with no hope of retaining the Premier league title. Even though Mancini has managed to guide City to 2 trophies in the last three seasons, many feel that his time at the Etihad stadium is up.

CITY BEAT WATFORD

Manchester City has defeated Watford in a FA Cup match played at Emirates Stadium on Saturday. City won the match quite comfortably by 3-0. With this win, City has made its way into the fourth round of the competition.

Mario Balotelli was left out of the starting line up after his animated conversation with the manager Roberto Mancini while training. Carlos Tevez made a comeback to the starting XI.

On the other hand, the manager of Watford, Gianfranco Zola, made a couple of changes in the starting line up. Troy Deeney and Matej Vydra were given the opportunity to start.

CLICHY IS A DOUBT

The French left back Gareth Clichy has emerged as a major doubt for the crunch Champions League match with Real Madrid in the midweek action for Manchester City.

The Premier league champions face a tough fight in order to qualify for the next stage of the competition. They have never qualified for the last 16 stage having been knocked out in the group stages last season as well.
